The Problem

America has been poisoning itself
one sweet sip at a time.

Aspartame
NutraSweet · Equal · "Diet"

A 2025 study in Cell Metabolism confirmed what many suspected: aspartame triggers insulin release via vagus nerve activation and drives atherosclerosis through inflammatory signaling pathways — confirmed in both rodent and primate models. It is not inert. It is not safe. And it is in thousands of "diet" products Americans consume daily.

Sugar
Sucrose · HFCS · "Natural"

Professor Robert Lustig of UCSF has argued before Congress that sugar should be regulated like alcohol — a chronic, dose-dependent toxin driving the Type 2 Diabetes epidemic. Over 37 million Americans have T2D. Over 96 million more are pre-diabetic. The average American consumes 17 teaspoons of added sugar daily. The WHO recommends fewer than 6.

There is a third option. It has been growing in the West African rainforest for millennia. You just hadn't heard of it yet.

Meet thaumatin
the protein that
tastes sweet.

Thaumatin is a 207-amino acid protein extracted from the katemfe plant (Thaumatococcus daniellii) of West Africa. It is the world's most potent natural sweetener — and because it is a protein, your body digests it exactly as it would any other protein. No glycemic spike. No insulin response. No toxicity. No aftertaste.

Ancient Origins

Centuries of use.
Finally available
to you.

West Africans have wrapped their foods in katemfe leaves for centuries, enjoying the extraordinary Sweet of the thaumatin protein long before any scientist had a name for it. The fruit was first described scientifically in 1839. The protein was isolated and characterized in the 1970s. It has been approved for food use in the EU since 1984.

The Katemfe Plant · West Africa

A member of the Marantaceae family, the katemfe plant grows in the tropical rainforests of West Africa — from Sierra Leone to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Its fruit produces the thaumatin protein in the sweet-tasting aril that surrounds the seeds.

The plant has been used by local populations for generations — to sweeten foods, beverages, and even to make sour or bitter medicines more palatable to children.

We added one thing
nobody else thought to.

Pure Plant Sweet contains thaumatin — but our formulation goes further. Each bottle includes potassium iodide, delivering a meaningful dose of iodine with every use. Iodine deficiency affects an estimated 2 billion people worldwide. Most Americans are not adequately iodized. We also add Vitamin C to maintain a perfectly clear, clean solution.
